CCS, Red Bank, Ooltewah Volleyball Winners Tuesday

Soddy Daisy Beats Hixson; Lookout Valley Splits With Gordon Lee, Ringgold

Chattanooga Christian, Red Bank and Ooltewah all won volleyball matches Tuesday with CCS improving to 2-0 with the 3-1 district win over Grace.

Soddy Daisy defeated Hixson by a 3-1 final while Lookout Valley split a pair of matches, the Lady Yellow Jackets losing to Gordon Lee before defeating Ringgold.

Soddy Daisy prevailed by scores of 25-10, 19-25, 25-8 and 25-21.  Lookout Valley lost to Gordon Lee by scores of 25-15 and 25-18 before pinning a 25-18, 25-23 loss on Ringgold.

Red Bank and Ooltewah both won season-openers with victories over Grundy County and Signal Mountain, respectively.

The Lady Chargers needed four sets to defeat the Lady Golden Eagles as CCS won by scores of 25-14, 26-28, 25-19 and 25-22.

The Lionettes won 3-0 over the Lady Yellow Jackets as they won by scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-18 while Ooltewah swept the Lady Eagles by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-13.

One person was killed in a crash on Highway 58 on Saturday afternoon. The victim was identified as Karen Saxton, 64.
