Upcoming Street Closures For June 18-24

Here are the special event street closures for June 18-24: 

Wednesday, June 20

CFC Soccer Match - Reggie White Boulevard will be closed from the entrance to the pavilion parking lot to W 19th Street from 5 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday.  

Friday, June 22

Nightfall - Market Street will be closed from East 8th Street to East 10th Street, and ML King Blvd will be closed from Broad Street to Georgia Avenue from 5:30 p.m. until 12 midnight on Friday. This closure will be in effect each Friday night through Aug. 31.

West Village Out on 8th  - W 8th Street between Pine Street and Chestnut Street will be closed from 2 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Saturday.  This closure will be in effect each Friday night through Oct. 27. 

Saturday, June 23

CFC Soccer Match - Reggie White Boulevard will be closed from the entrance to the pavilion parking lot to W 19th Street from 12 p.m. until midnight on Saturday.  

West Village Street Festivals-  Pine Street will be closed to through traffic between W 6th Street and W. ML King Street; additionally W 7th Street will be closed to through traffic at Chestnut Street and W 8th Street between Pine Street and Chestnut Street from 8 a.m.-midnight each Saturday through Jan. 19, 2019.  

Sunday, June 24

Chattanooga Market - Reggie White Boulevard will be closed from the entrance to the pavilion parking lot to W 19th Street from 6 a.m.- 8 p.m. each Sunday through Nov. 18.

Friday, June 22, until Sunday, June 24 

2018 Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon Closures

Friday and Saturday - Starting Friday at 9 a.m. Riverfront Parkway will be closed to all traffic from Power Ally to Chestnut Street for the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon setup and packet pickup, which will occur Saturday from 12-5 p.m.

Sunday, June 24

Beginning at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 24, the following closures will occur for the triathlon:

Riverfront Parkway will be closed to all traffic from Molly Lane to Aquarium way and closed to through traffic from W. MLK to Molly Lane.

The southbound off-ramp from Veterans Bridge to Riverfront Parkway will also be closed. 

The center lanes of Riverfront Pkwy, Riverside Drive, and Amnicola Highway will remained blocked off to traffic during the race from Aquarium Way to just past the entrance to Chattanooga State Community College. 

Chattanooga Police Department will be at all major intersections to help direct traffic. CDOT asks drivers in the outside lanes to only cross the center lanes at the signals where officers are directing traffic.

Roads will reopen at 3 p.m. with the exception of Riverfront Parkway, Power Alley and Chestnut Street; they will reopen by 5 p.m.

2 Bank Tellers Say They Are Positive Walter Rice Was Gunman Who Robbed Hixson Branch

Two tellers from the Hixson branch of the Bank of America testified Tuesday they are positive that Walter Frank Rice is the individual who robbed them at gunpoint last July 25. General Sessions Court Judge Lila Statom bound a bank robbery charge against Rice, 36, of 4734 Sabrina Lane, Hixson, to the Grand Jury.
