Classic Car Show Set For Aug. 4

The 8th Annual Classic Car Show sponsored by the city of East Ridge, O’Reilly Auto Parts and River City Corvette Club, will be held on Aug. 4 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Camp Jordan Arena. 

There will be 82 awards given, including Top 50 and first and second place winners in 11 classes including Rat Rods, Bikes and Imports, Charities Choice, Best Wheels, Best Interior, Best Exterior, Best Engine and Best Club Participation. 

There will also be a Car Corral and Swap Meet with a $20 entry fee on the day of the show. 

All proceeds benefit the East Ridge Needy Child Fund and Hospice of Chattanooga.

Inside arena show parking is on a first come, first serve basis (no spots held).

Traffic Signal Work To Be Done At Highway 153 North And Shallowford Road On Tuesday

The Traffic Operation Department will be working on the traffic  signal  at Highway 153 North and the Shallowford Road ramp , from  9 a.m. until 11 a.m.  on Tuesday. Drivers are to treat this intersection as an all-way stop during the construction. CPD will be on-site to assist. (click for more)

Chattanooga Airport Has Biggest Month Yet; Work May Start Next Year On Parking Deck With 1,300 Spaces

The Chattanooga Airport set a record in September with 44,000 enplanements, the highest ever for one month. This was an increase of nine percent over September 2017, and deplanements were in line, said Terry Hart president and CEO. Firefighters Climb 150 Feet To Extinguish Fire At Ardent Mills

Chattanooga firefighters had to climb 150 feet to extinguish a fire at a flour mill off Amnicola Highway on Monday morning. A call came in at  7:35 a.m. for the  fire at 1 Riverside Lane. Ardent Mills reported smoke in the building and all employees were evacuated.
