Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

Here are street closings for the weekend:


Notre Dame Irish Soles Crossing 5K Road Race and 1-Mile Walk: Chestnut Street will be closed between West 17th Street and the entrance to the Riverwalk from 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. for this 5K Road Race and 1-Mile Walk. Detours will be posted, and Chattanooga Police Department officers will be at intersections to help direct traffic. For more information on this event, visit


St. Paddy's Party in the Parkway: Patten Parkway will be closed from 4 a.m. to 12 a.m. for this St. Patrick's Day celebration, which will feature live music, food and libations for the holiday. The all–ages street party is designed to showcase and promote local and regional musicians and celebrate the universally loved St Patrick’s Day holiday. The Party on the Parkway festival uses the entire length of Patten Parkway to celebrate with an additional outdoor stage, food and beer vendors. Visit for more information.

St. Patrick's at West Village Pine Street in front of the Westin Hotel, West 8th Street from Broad Street to Pine Street and Chestnut Street from West 8th Street to West MLK Boulevard will all be closed from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, for this celebration that includes live bands, food, a laser light show and more. St. Paddy's Day 7KTremont Street will be closed between River Street and the blue rhino, as well as lane closures on Veterans Bridge, E. 3rd Street and Walnut  Street, from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. This 7K benefits Chattanooga Sports Ministries, which seeks to transform the communities of at-risk youth through athletic engagement. 5th Annual St. Chatty's Day Parade: Johnson Street, Passenger Street, westbound Main Street between Passenger Street, as well as northbound Market Street between Main Street and Houston Street and Houston Street between Market Street and the entrance of the Warehouse Row parking garage will be closed from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for this annual St. Patrick's Day parade hosted by Kids on the Block and The Shamrock Society. Before the parade, Chattanooga Police Department officers will be at intersections allowing traffic to pass through until the parade steps off. For more information on the event, visit

Bitter Block Party: St. Patrick's Day Style!: Houston Street will be closed between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Flynn Street from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, for this St. Patrick's Day Bash hosted by the Bitter Alibi that will feature a green slip and slide, bubble machines, live music, food and more. Southside Social Chestnut Street Weekend Closures: Chestnut Street will be closed between West 17th Street and West 19th Street from 7 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday evenings.
